2KUMMEH INSCRIPTION?
3749. All of the few dated records of Amenembhet IV are
4beyond the borders of Egypt. The earliest is the rock in-
5scription of Kummeh, recording the height of the Nile there.
6Height (7°) of the Nile of the year 5, under the majesty of the King
7of Upper and Lower Egypt, Makhrure (M ><-prw-R¢, Amenemhet IV),
8living forever and ever.
9SINAI INSCRIPTIONS
10750. Amenemhet IV continued the exploitation of the
11Sinaitic mines at least as late as his sixth year. At Wadi
12Maghara his officials have left two records, the first® con-
13taining only the date and the leader’s titles, as follows:
14Year 6 under the majesty of the King of Upper and Lower Egypt,
15Makhrure (Amenemhet IV), given life forever, — beloved of Soped,
16[lord of the East] and Hathor, mistress of malachite.
17ⲥ desire, treading the way of him (the king) who favors
18him; whom the soldiers love, I—1 his designs, giving attention, '— —
19— --ⲓ storeroom-keeper of the palace, Kheye (H © y), [born of] Henut
20(Hnuft]).
21A further inscription? also bears the same date, but con-
22tains only a mortuary prayer.
23At Sarbat el-Khadem two inscriptions® contain only the
24Pharaoh’s name.
