1:7ⲡⲗⲁⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲩϩⲁⲙϣⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϩⲱⲕ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϭⲟⲟⲗⲉ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ϩⲓϩⲁⲧ ⲉⲛⲉϩϭⲟⲗ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲛⲥⲉⲛⲁϣ ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲡ̀ⲗⲁⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩϩⲁⲙϣⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥϩⲱⲕ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϫⲏⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲃ ϩⲓϩⲁⲧ ⲉ̀ⲛ̀ϩϭⲟⲗ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲛ̀ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣ ⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲁⲛp̀las ġar ǹnounouti ouhamṡe petafhōk m̀mof ouoh ǹθōou evjyl ǹnoub hihat èǹhċol ne eǹsenaṡ saji anAs for their tongue, it is polished by the workman, and they themselves are gilded and laid over with silver; yet are they but false, and cannot speak.
1:8ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲥⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲉ ⲥⲉϫⲓⲛⲟⲩⲃⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲥⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲉ ⲥⲉϭⲓⲛⲟⲩⲃouoh ǹf̀ryti ǹouparθenos evma etsanos te seċinoubAnd taking gold, as it were for a virgin that loveth to go gay, they make crowns for the heads of their gods.

1:11ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲉⲩⲣⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϣⲏⲃⲉ ϩⲓϫⲟⲟⲗⲉⲥ ⲉϣⲁⲩϭⲟⲗⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲛϫⲏϭⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲩⲣⲃⲟⲗ ⲉ̀ϣⲏⲃⲉ ϩⲓϫⲟⲟⲗⲉⲥ ⲉϣⲁⲟⲩϭⲟⲗⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲛϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ⲛ̀ϭⲏϫⲓnai ḋe mpavrvol èṡyve higooles eṡaouċolou ḋe ǹhanhoite ǹċyjiYet cannot these gods save themselves from rust and moth, though they be covered with purple raiment.
1:12ϣⲁⲩϥⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉⲩϩⲟ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡϣⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲏⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲗⲱϫϭ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩϣⲁ ⲩϥⲱϯ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲡⲟⲩϩⲟ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡ̀ϣⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛ̀ⲡⲏⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲗⲱϫϭ ⲉ̀ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉ̀ϫⲱⲟⲩṡa yfōti èvol ǹpouho eθve p̀ṡoeiṡ ǹpyi etaflōgċ èrōou enaṡōou ehrai ègōouThey wipe their faces because of the dust of the temple, when there is much upon them.
