1:8ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲕⲱ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ ⲛⲛⲁⲛⲥⲙⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉ̀ⲧ̀ⲥ̀ⲃⲱ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲓⲱⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲣⲭⲱ ⲛ̀ⲥⲱⲕ ⲛ̀ⲛⲁⲛⲥⲙⲙⲉ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲩsōtem paṡyri èt̀s̀vō ǹpekiōt ouoh m̀perkō ǹsōk ǹnansmme ǹtekmavHear, my son, the instruction of thy father, and reject not the rules of thy mother.
1:9ⲕⲛⲁϫⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲗⲟⲙ ⲛϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉϫⲛⲧⲉⲕⲁⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲕⲗⲁⲗ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲙⲁⲕϩⲕⲛⲁϭⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲭ̀ⲗⲟⲙ ⲛ̀ϩ̀ⲙⲟⲧ ⲉ̀ϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲁ̀ⲫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲭⲗⲁⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲙⲁⲕϩknaċi ġar ǹouk̀lom ǹh̀mot èjen tekàfe ouoh ouklal ǹnoub èpekmak·hFor thou shalt receive for thine head a crown of graces, and a chain of gold round thy neck.
1:10ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲣⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲡⲗⲁⲛⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲕⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲑⲣⲉϩⲁⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛ̀ⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲡ̀ⲗⲁⲛⲁ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲕpaṡyri mpenθrehanrōmi ǹrefernovi p̀lana m̀mokMy son, let not ungodly men lead thee astray, neither consent thou to them.
1:11ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡⲕ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ⲛⲅⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲓϩⲱⲧⲃⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡⲕ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁ̀ⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲉⲓ ⲉ̀ⲡⲁⲓϧⲱⲧⲉⲃouḋe mperouōṡ avṡansep·sōpk evgō m̀mos je àmou neman ǹtekkoinōnei èpaixōtebIf they should exhort thee, saying, Come with us, partake in blood, and let us unjustly hide the just man in the earth:
1:12ⲛⲧⲛϩⲱⲧⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲕⲁⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ϩⲛⲟⲩϫⲓⲛϭⲟⲛⲥⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲛϩⲱⲧⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ⲕⲁⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛ̀ⲇⲓⲕⲉⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϭⲓⲛϫⲟⲛⲥǹtenhōtp ḋe èp̀kanourōmi ǹḋikeos xen ouċingonsand let us swallow him alive, as Hades would, and remove the memorial of him from the earth:
1:13ⲛⲧⲛⲟⲙⲕϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲟⲛϩ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲁⲙⲛⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲛϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲛⲧⲛϫⲡⲟ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲛⲕⲁ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲛⲙⲉϩⲛⲉⲛⲏⲓ ⲛϣⲱⲗⲛ̀ⲧⲛⲟⲙⲕϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲟⲛϧ ⲛ̀ⲫ̀ⲣⲏϯ ⲛ̀ⲁ̀ⲙⲉⲛϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲁⲓ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉϥⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲫⲟ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉϥⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲉϩⲛⲉⲛⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ϣⲱⲗǹtnomkf ḋe efonx ǹf̀ryti ǹàmenti ouoh ǹtetenfai ǹpefrpmeeve èvol hijen kahi ǹtetengfo nan ǹnefenkai etnaṡōou ǹtetenmehnenyi ǹṡōllet us seize on his valuable property, and let us fill our houses with spoils:
1:14ⲛⲅⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛⲧⲉⲟⲩⲧⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲛⲛ̀ⲕⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲕ̀ⲗⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲙⲁⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲟⲙⲓ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲱⲧ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁⲛǹknouje ǹpekk̀lyros nem maǹte outomi ǹouōt ṡōpi nanbut do thou cast in thy lot with us, and let us all provide a common purse, and let us have one pouch:
1:15ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲓⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲣⲉⲕⲧⲧⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲓ ⲫ̀ⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲟⲩ ⲣⲉⲕⲧⲧⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲱⲓⲧpaṡyri m̀pervōk hi f̀mōit nemaou rekttekoueryte ḋe èvol xen noumōitgo not in the way with them, but turn aside thy foot from their paths:
1:16ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲩⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲉⲡⲛⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗⲉ̀ⲣⲉⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲫⲏⲧ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲉ̀ⲡⲉⲛⲥ̀ⲛⲟϥ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗèrenououeryte ġar fyt èoukakia ouoh evċepy èpens̀nof èvolFor their feet run to do evil, and are swift to shed blood.
1:17ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲡⲣϣϣⲛⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲛϩⲁⲗⲁⲧⲉ ⲉⲡⲣⲁⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲩⲡ̀ⲣϣϣⲛⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲉ̀ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲗⲁϯ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ⲣⲁǹnoup̀rṡṡne ġar an èvol èǹhalati èp̀rafor nets are not without cause spread for birds.
1:18ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲉⲭⲉ ⲉϩⲉⲛⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲥⲉⲩϩⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛⲛ̀ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲉⲭⲉ ⲉ̀ϩⲁⲛⲥ̀ⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲥⲉⲩϩⲡⲉⲧϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛǹθōou ġar evmeteṡe èhans̀nof evsevhpet·hoou nōou èxounFor they that are concerned in murder store up evils for themselves; and the overthrow of transgressors is evil.
1:19ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲡϣⲟⲣϣⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϩⲛⲧⲉⲩⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧϣⲁϥⲧⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲛ̀ⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧϫⲱⲕ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲡ̀ϣⲟⲣϣⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛ̀ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛ̀ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛ̀ⲧⲟⲩⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲙ̀ⲛⲧⲁⲧϣⲁϥⲧnai ne ǹmōit ǹouon niven etgōk èvol ǹǹnovi p̀ṡorṡr ḋe ǹǹrōmi ǹparanomos hoou evnatako ġar ǹtoupsiṡy xen toum̀ntatṡaftThese are the ways of all that perform lawless deeds; for by ungodliness they destroy their own life.
