1Documentary letters and legal texts in UNEDITED SPELLING — the register the wish list says the normalization stage's variant table actually needs, in a genre the catalogue is thin on and which is otherwise effectively all Sahidic. Verified on rendered page 40: Crum's notes on papyrus XII with Coptic forms quoted in the Coptic script (ⲙⲉⲩⲗⲓⲉ, ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲉ, ⲙ̄ⲛ̄ⲉⲙⲗⲁⲛ) and his own dialect verdict, quoted verbatim: "The M.E. element predominates over the Sah. in this text". The dialect recorded here is FAYUMIC/Middle Egyptian per Crum's own notes — per document, never guessed, when the texts themselves are ingested.

4THE PAGES ARE NOT IN THIS REPOSITORY. This document is a provenance stub: the original is staged under Coptic OCR/corpus/incoming/, with its SHA-256 and the terms as fetched in the README beside it. The catalogue row's `words` count is this stub's, not the volume's.

What the layers are

L0 witness
The text as its witness or edition has it, original spelling; its dialect is a description and is never standardized.
L0.5 transliteration
For Egyptian texts: the transliteration with the editors' marks turned into the symbols ° * < > _ ^ (ruled 2026-09-10). For papyri: the edition's Leiden marks as the same symbols, and the editors' readings beside the scribe's as ‹scribe→editors› (ruled PAP-3).
L1 Cairene
Standardized Greco-Bohairic spelling and grammar, generated by code from the layer above under the rulings of the project.
L2 Kemetic
The Kemetic alphabet, generated by code from L1.
English
Quoted translations where they exist, credited; otherwise model drafts, marked as drafts.
