6:4ⲙⲡⲣϯϩⲓⲛⲏⲃ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲃⲁⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣϯⲣⲉⲕⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲃⲟⲩϩⲉGive not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber with thine eyelids;
6:5ϫⲉⲉⲕⲉⲣⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϭϩⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛϩⲉⲛϩⲁϭⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϩⲁⲗⲏⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲡⲁϣthat thou mayest deliver thyself as a doe out of the toils, and as a bird out of a snare.
6:6ⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲡϭⲁϫⲓϥ ⲱ ⲡⲣⲉϥϫⲛⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲅⲕⲱϩ ⲉⲛⲉϥϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲅⲣⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲣⲟϥGo to the ant, O sluggard; and see, and emulate his ways, and become wiser than he.
6:7ⲉⲙⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉⲙⲛⲧϥⲡⲉⲧⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉⲙⲛⲧϥϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲓϫⲱϥFor whereas he has no husbandry, nor any one to compel him, and is under no master,

Or go to the bee, and learn how diligent she is, and how earnestly she is engaged in her work; whose labours kings and private men use for health, and she is desired and respected by all: though weak in body, she is advanced by honouring wisdom.
6:9ⲁϣⲧⲛⲁⲩ ⲕⲛⲏϫ ⲡⲣⲉϥϫⲛⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲕⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ϩⲁⲡϩⲓⲛⲏⲃ ⲧⲛⲁⲩHow long wilt thou lie, O sluggard? and when wilt thou awake out of sleep?
6:10ⲉⲕⲟⲃϣ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲡⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲕϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲡⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲕϫⲓⲣⲉⲕⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲡⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲡⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ ⲟⲗⲕ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲕⲙⲉⲥⲧϩⲏⲧThou sleepest a little, and thou restest a little, and thou slumberest a short time, and thou foldest thine arms over thy breast a little.
6:11ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱⲥ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧϩⲏⲕⲉ ⲉⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲁ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲕ ϩⲓⲟⲩϩⲓⲏ ⲉϥϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϭⲣⲱϩ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥⲡⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲉⲕϫⲛⲁⲁⲩ ⲡⲉⲕⲱϩⲥ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲏⲅⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϭⲣⲱϩ ⲛⲁⲡⲱⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉϥϩⲟⲟⲩThen poverty comes upon thee as an evil traveller, and want as a swift courier: but if thou be diligent, thine harvest shall arrive as a fountain, and poverty shall flee away as a bad courier.
6:12ϣⲁⲣⲉⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲓϩⲉⲛϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲩϩⲟⲟⲩA foolish man and a transgressor goes in ways that are not good.
6:13ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲁϥϫⲱⲣⲙ ϩⲙⲡⲁϥⲃⲁⲗ ⲛϥⲥⲏⲙⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲛⲧⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲛϥϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛϫⲱⲣⲙ ⲛⲧⲏⲏⲃⲉAnd the same winks with the eye, and makes a sign with his foot, and teaches with the beckonings of his fingers.
6:14ϣⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧϭⲟⲟⲙⲉ ⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉϩⲉⲛⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲣϩⲉⲛϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥHis perverse heart devises evils: at all times such a one causes troubles to a city.
6:15ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉϥⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲛⲏⲩ ϩⲛⲟⲩϣⲥⲛⲉ ⲟⲩϭⲟϫϫ ⲙⲛⲟⲩⲱϣϥ ⲛⲁⲧⲧⲁⲗϭⲟ ϫⲉϥⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲉϫⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϥⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏTherefore his destruction shall come suddenly; overthrow and irretrievable ruin.
6:16ⲥⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲁⲥⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲁϣϥ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲃⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏFor he rejoices in all things which God hates, and he is ruined by reason of impurity of soul.
6:17ⲡⲃⲁⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥⲥⲱϣ ⲟⲩⲗⲁⲥ ⲛϫⲓⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ϩⲉⲛϭⲓϫ ⲉⲩⲡⲛⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥThe eye of the haughty, a tongue unjust, hands shedding the blood of the just;
6:18ⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉϥⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉϩⲉⲛⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲩϩⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲉⲛⲟⲩⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲉⲣⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩand a heart devising evil thoughts, and feet hastening to do evil, are hateful to God.
6:19ϣⲁⲣⲉⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲣⲉϥϫⲓⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ⲧⲙϩⲉϩⲉⲛϭⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩϯⲧⲱⲛ ⲉϥϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲥⲛⲏⲩAn unjust witness kindles falsehoods, and brings on quarrels between brethren.
6:20ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲛⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲕⲱ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ ⲛⲛⲁⲛⲥⲙⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲁⲩMy son, keep the laws of thy father, and reject not the ordinances of thy mother:
6:21ⲙⲟⲣⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲱⲣϫ ⲛⲅⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲗⲁⲗ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲙⲁⲕϩbut bind them upon thy soul continually, and hang them as a chain about thy neck.
6:22ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁⲛⲓⲥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲕ ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲥϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲥⲉϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲕWhensoever thou walkest, lead this along and let it be with thee; that it may talk with thee when thou wakest.
6:23ⲟⲩⲣⲉϥⲣⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲓⲏ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲡⲓⲉⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲡⲁϩⲉFor the commandment of the law is a lamp and a light; a way of life; reproof also and correction:
6:24ϫⲉⲉⲥⲉϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲉⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲱⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲗⲁⲥ ⲛϩⲉⲛϣⲙⲙⲟto keep thee continually from a married woman, and from the calumny of a strange tongue.
6:25ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲡⲥⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ϫⲣⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲩϭⲱⲣϭ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲕⲃⲁⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲥⲧⲟⲣⲡⲕ ϩⲓⲛⲉⲥⲃⲟⲩϩⲉLet not the desire of beauty overcome thee, neither be thou caught by thine eyes, neither be captivated with her eyelids.
6:26ⲡⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲣⲛⲏ ϣⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ϭⲱⲣϭ ⲉⲛⲉⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲓⲏⲩFor the value of a harlot is as much as of one loaf; and a woman hunts for the precious souls of men.
6:27ⲙⲏ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲁⲙⲣϩⲉⲛϫⲃⲃⲉⲥ ⲛⲕⲱϩⲧ ϩⲛⲕⲟⲩⲛϥ ⲛϥⲧⲙⲣⲱⲕϩ ⲛⲛⲉϥϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ⲕⲏShall any one bind fire in his bosom, and not burn his garments?
6:28ⲏ ⲟⲩⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲓϫⲛϩⲉⲛϫⲃⲃⲉⲥ ⲛⲥⲁⲧⲉ ⲛϥⲧⲙϫⲉϥⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉor will any one walk on coals of fire, and not burn his feet?
6:29ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲃⲏⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ϣⲁⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲧⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲉⲛϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϫⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲥSo is he that goes in to a married woman; he shall not be held guiltless, neither any one that touches her.
6:30ⲛⲟⲩϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛϭⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲉϥϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉϥϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉⲉϥⲉⲧⲥⲓⲟ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲕⲁⲉⲓⲧIt is not to be wondered at if one should be taken stealing, for he steals that when hungry he may satisfy his soul:
6:31ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛϭⲟⲡϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲥⲁϣϥ ⲛⲕⲱⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲛⲉϥϩⲩⲡⲁⲣⲭⲟⲛⲧⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛϥⲧⲟⲩϫⲟϥbut if he should be taken, he shall repay sevenfold, and shall deliver himself by giving all his goods.
6:32ⲡⲛⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲉϥⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧϩⲏⲧ ϥⲛⲁϫⲡⲟ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁϥBut the adulterer through want of sense procures destruction to his soul.
6:33ϥⲛⲁϥⲓ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛⲥⲱϣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϥⲛⲟϭⲛⲉϭ ⲛⲁϥⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩHe endures both pain and disgrace, and his reproach shall never be wiped off.
6:34ⲡϭⲱⲛⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲙⲉϩ ⲛⲕⲱϩ ⲛϥⲛⲁϯⲥⲟ ⲁⲛ ϩⲛⲟⲩϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲱⲱⲃⲉFor the soul of her husband is full of jealousy: he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
6:35ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲛⲁϩⲱⲧⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲙⲛⲧϫⲁϫⲉ ϩⲁⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲃⲱⲗ ϩⲁϩⲁϩ ⲛⲇⲱⲣⲟⲛHe will not forego his enmity for any ransom: neither will he be reconciled for many gifts.
