5:4ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲕⲛⲁϭⲛⲧⲥ ⲉⲥⲥⲁϣⲉ ⲉⲩⲥⲓϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲥⲧⲏⲙ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲟⲩⲥⲏϥⲉ ⲛϩⲟ ⲥⲛⲁⲩⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲕ̀ⲛⲁϭⲛⲧⲥ ⲉⲥⲥⲁϣⲉ ⲉ̀ⲟⲩⲥⲓϣⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲥⲧⲏⲙ ⲉ̀ϩⲟⲧⲉⲟⲩⲥⲏϥⲓ ⲛ̀ϩⲟ ⲥ̀ⲛⲁⲩmenensōs k̀naċnts essaṡe èousiṡe ouoh estym èhoteousyfi ǹho s̀navbut afterwards thou wilt find her more bitter than gall, and sharper than a two-edged sword.

5:6ⲛⲥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲉⲥϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉϩⲏⲡⲛ̀ⲥⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓ ⲛ̀ⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛ̀ⲡ̀ⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲥⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲇⲉ ϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉϩⲏⲡǹsmoṡi ġar an hi ǹmōit ǹp̀ōnx nesmōit ḋe ṡtrtōr ouoh sehypFor she goes not upon the paths of life; but her ways are slippery, and not easily known.
5:7ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲥⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ⲣⲟⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲣⲥⲧⲟ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛⲁⲥⲁϫⲓtinou oun paṡyri sōtem èroi ouoh m̀persto èvol ǹnasajiNow then, my son, hear me, and make not my words of none effect.
5:8ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲕϩⲓⲏ ⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲏⲓⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲕⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲙ̀ⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙ̀ⲡⲉⲣϩⲱⲛ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲛ̀ⲣⲟ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲥⲏⲓmare pekmōit ouei m̀mos ouoh m̀perhōn èxoun èǹro ǹpesyiRemove thy way far from her; draw not near to the doors of her house:
5:9ϫⲉⲛⲛⲉⲕϯ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲱⲛϩ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲅϯ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲁϩⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲁⲧⲛⲁϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉⲕϯ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲱⲛϧ ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲛⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕϯ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲛⲁⲧⲛⲁje ǹnekti ǹpekōnx ǹhankōouni ouoh ǹtekti ǹpekahi ǹhanatnalest thou give away thy life to others, and thy substance to the merciless:
5:10ϫⲉⲛⲛⲉϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲩⲉ ⲥⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϭⲟⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲉⲕϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲏⲓ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲛⲉϩⲁⲛⲕⲟⲩⲉ ⲥⲓ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕϫⲟⲙ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲕϧⲓⲥⲓ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲛⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓje ǹnehankoue si ǹtekgom ǹte nekxisi vōk èxoun ènyi ǹhankōounilest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labours come into the houses of strangers;
5:11ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲛⲅⲣϩⲧⲏⲕ ϩⲛⲧⲉⲕⲙⲛⲧϩⲗⲗⲟ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲛⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕⲣϩⲧⲏⲕ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲉⲧϧⲉⲗⲗⲟ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲛ̀ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲕⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϧⲓϯmenensōs ǹtekrhtyk xen tekmetxello erṡanǹsarks ǹpek·sōma xitiAnd thou repent at last, when the flesh of thy body is consumed,
5:12ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲛⲅϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲓⲟⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉϫⲡⲓⲟⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉⲕϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲓⲟⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁ ⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̀ⲛ̀ϫⲡⲓⲟmenensōs ǹtekgos je eθve ou ġar naiouaṡou an pe evtisvō nyi ouoh a pahyt riki èvol ǹǹgpioand thou shalt say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart avoided reproofs!
5:13ⲛⲅϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉⲙⲡⲓⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡⲉϩⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲧϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲙⲁⲁϫⲉⲛ̀ⲕϫⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ⲡ̀ϩⲣⲟⲩ ⲛ̀ⲡⲉⲧϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛ̀ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⲛ̀ⲡⲁⲙⲁⲁϫⲉǹkgos ḋe je ǹpaisōtem èp̀hrou ǹpettisvō nyi ouoh ǹpairiki ǹpamaajeI heard not the voice of him that instructed me, and taught me, neither did I apply mine ear.
