However, I wouldn't have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn't have known coveting, unless the law had said, 'You shall not covet.'
7:8ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲇⲉ ϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲫⲟⲣⲙⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛⲧⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲁϥⲣϩⲱⲃ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ . ⲁϫⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ .Ⲁ ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲇⲉ ϭⲓ ⲛ̀ⲟⲩⲁⲫⲟⲣⲙⲏ ⲉ̀ⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲧ̀ⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛ̀ϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲉ̀ⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ. Ⲁϫⲙ ⲡ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ.A f̀novi ḋe ċi ǹouaformy èvol hiten t̀entoly aferhōb hrai ǹhyt eèpiθimia niven. Agm p̀nomos ġar f̀novi mōout.But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
7:9ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲉⲓⲟⲛϩ ⲁϫⲛⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲡⲉ . ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ . ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲱⲛϩ .Ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲛϧ ⲛ̀ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̀ⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ. Ⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲥⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̀ϫⲉ ⲧ̀ⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ. Ⲁ ⲫ̀ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲱⲛϧ.Anok ḋe nai onx ǹnomos ǹsyou pe. 7:10ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲓⲙⲟⲩ . ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉϯⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲉⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ .Ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲓⲙⲟⲩ. Ⲁⲩϫⲓⲙⲓ ⲉ̀ⲧⲁⲓⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ⲉⲩⲱⲛϧ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲓ.Anok ḋe aimou. Avjimi ètaientoly etṡop evōnx evmou nyi.The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death;
